A fresh approach to brush lettering!

What you'll learn: 

Rachel will show you how to loosen up with a pointed brush and create lettering that feels bold, expressive, and full of movement:

  • Get comfortable with brush pressure and stroke control
  • Practice making smooth thick and thin strokes
  • Explore different uppercase and lowercase letterforms
  • Learn how to use spacing, scale, and rhythm to give your lettering more character
  • Play with swashes, loops, flourishes, and expressive brush marks
  • Combine and arrange letters to create strong, balanced compositions
  • Build confidence and begin developing your own brush lettering style

About Rachel:

Rachel is a freelance calligrapher specializing in expressive styles mainly working on logos, packaging, promotional material, and stationery. Rachel has taught a wide variety of calligraphic and design disciplines in art schools, conferences, and workshops both in the UK and internationally. The driving force in her work is line: the shape, the texture, and in particular, the tension between one line and another. She strives every day to make that elusive perfect mark and letterform.
