I've got you covered! The Pointed Pen Tips & Tricks Class is a comprehensive pre-recorded video course that you can take over the span of 6 months (or binge it over a weekend and spend the 6 months reviewing as desired). 

Pointed Pen Tips & Tricks is designed to give you all the foundational skills and knowledge of the supplies and tools used so that you have a successful, frustration-free experience.

Each class page gives a list of the needed and recommended supplies in the FAQ section.

After registering, you will also see the list in the "Supply List" section within the course.

Go to "Courses" in the top menu and browse the class offerings. Each course has a detailed page of information specific to that class.

Upon registering, you created a password (if you have taken classes before, you were prompted to log in). 

A confirmation email was sent automatically and may have gone to your spam folder. All is well! You don't necessarily need it; it's just to welcome you. 

You then immediately had access to log in to learncalligraphy.com and open the course.

• Log in to your account.
• Click on the avatar in the corner (little profile image).
• Go to "My Courses" in the dropdown menu.
• Open the class you are enrolled in. 

• Go to "Log In" at the top menu
• Use your email and the password you created upon registering for class as your login
• If you cannot remember the password you made, click on "forgot password" to be sent an email to reset it

*** You may already be logged in!! The website may remember you from before. If you see a little round avatar image instead of the words "Log In"  that means you are already logged in. Click on the image to see your account options.

Live classes are offered at two different times to facilitate your schedule and time zone to the best of our ability no matter where you are in the world. The class times are listed in California time.

We love that most classes have 20-30 countries represented in the enrolled students!

Please use this Time Zone Calculator to determine the time difference. You can use Los Angeles or San Francisco for our time zone and see what time that is for you.

Absolutely! Most instructors will be holding their pen in their right hand but the letterforms and script rules are the same. 

Lefties have special challenges because there are so many grip styles. But there are many left-handed calligraphers in the community and most teachers can offer some general assistance to get you going.

Two things may be happening...

1) The emails may be getting kicked into your spam or trash folder. Please add my email address to your "safe" or "whitelisted" emails or add me to your contacts so that your computer knows that you actually do want to hear from me. [email protected]

2) You may have hit "unsubscribe" on one of my emails. Unfortunately, once you do, I'm no longer legally allowed to email you at all, even about a class you are enrolled in. To fix that:

• Log in to your account.
• Click on the avatar in the corner (little profile image).
• Go to "Settings" in the dropdown menu.
• Make sure you are subscribed for emails

• Open the class
• Go to the "Class Handouts" section.

** Handouts are loaded into the course 3-4 days before the first class session. 

Of course! If it's too difficult for you to join live or something comes up last minute, not to worry! All students are given both the live class meeting access and the recording links. It's completely up to you how you chose to participate.

• Go to "My Courses" in the dropdown menu.
• Open the course.
• Go to the "Zoom Link" section.

** Zoom links are added to the course a couple days before the meeting date. Classes that last more than one week, will have a fresh link added for each week.

Nope. Meetings will be held using the learncalligraphy.com Zoom account.

A link will be provided within the course. Simply click on the link and you'll be good to go!

If you have never used Zoom before, you will be prompted through a couple of basic steps the first time you use it. Just follow the instructions on your screen and you'll quickly be ready to go. 

Make sure you are using the correct Zoom link. A fresh link is created each week. Most classes meet twice a week for multiple weeks.

• Log in to your account. 
• Click on the avatar in the corner (little profile image).
• Go to "My Courses" in the dropdown menu.
• Open the course.
• Use the correct Zoom link for the current week of instruction.

** Zoom links are added to the course a couple days before the meeting date. Classes that last more than one week, will have a fresh link added for each week.

• Log in to your account.
• Click on the avatar in the corner (little profile image).
• Go to "My Courses" in the dropdown menu.
• Open the class you want to review.
• Go to the "Class Recording" section.

** Recordings are available for a specified amount of time. Your registration confirmation email reminds you of their expiration date. 

When watching the recordings, you can take advantage of automated closed captioning. This is a feature of Chrome (so you must use Chrome as your browser not Safari or Firefox, for example).

1. On your computer, open Chrome 
2. At the top right, click the 3 dots then go to Settings
3. At the bottom of the Settings page, click Advanced then Accessibility then Captions
4. Toggle on Live Caption

Nope! You are welcome to have your camera on in the beginning to say hello if you would like. For the rest of class, we'll ask that all students turn their video off to minimize the bandwidth which will assist those students in the class that have less-than-ideal internet service.
