The variety of ruling pens:
Ruling pens come in a wide variety of shapes and sizes, each offering its own unique mark-making potential. We'll begin class by guiding you through the process of making your own Cola Pen (two pictured far left), a fun and accessible tool to get you started.
As you watch Rachel and Sachin demonstrate their personal collections, you’ll have the opportunity to see a range of pens in action, helping you decide which styles you might want to add to your own toolkit.

About Rachel:
Rachel is a freelance calligrapher specializing in expressive styles mainly working on logos, packaging, promotional material, and stationery. Rachel has taught a wide variety of calligraphic and design disciplines in art schools, conferences, and workshops both in the UK and internationally. The driving force in her work is line: the shape, the texture, and in particular, the tension between one line and another. She strives every day to make that elusive perfect mark and letterform.

About Sachin:
Sachin is a software engineer by qualification and a calligrapher by passion for over 25 years.
Always fascinated by letters and an inspiration to many, Sachin has traveled the world giving classes. Now focused on online instruction, Sachin is a Calligraphy Masters Crew member and Co-Editor of the Speedball Textbook 25th Edition.
